Aid Scooty's Critical Dental Procedure
Donation protected
I hate having to do this, but unfortunately Pet Insurance doesn’t cover any dental outside of traumatic injury. Scooty had distemper as a pup which lead to not having enamel on her teeth, making her prone to dental problems. Aka according to insurance, pre-existing condition. I’m surprised her teeth have lasted her this long. At the ripe age of 14 plus her heart murmur, I have decided to go to a dental specialist who has an anesthesiologist in the surgical room. As most of you can imagine, having Scooty go under for any procedure is about the most stressful thing in the world for me after losing Thumbles. They also have much more technology available rather than just pulling teeth.
Just the anesthesiologist fee alone is $1750 and Scooty’s total treatment ESTIMATE is $4500-10.000. Which seems WILD! And hopefully won’t be at that high end. She also had blood work come back suspicious which will require an ultrasound. On top of that, I also need an ultrasound. 2 days apart. As you can imagine all of these large expenses are adding up after a large move. If insurance even covered 1/3 of this, I wouldn’t be here asking for assistance. However, as many people are struggling in this country with insurance that just doesn’t seem to work like it should, here we are.
