Scooby, my Doberman Pinscher, has been my loyal companion since I rescued him in 2023. He’s truly my best friend, and together we’ve built a bond that means the world to me. Recently, we faced a terrifying situation when Scooby needed emergency surgery for a sudden and life-threatening blockage in his intestines. It was a medical emergency that turned our world upside down and required the removal of three feet of his intestine.
Since the surgery, Scooby has been on the road to recovery, but it hasn’t been easy. He’s on five different medications, prescribed food, and spends most of his days feeling drowsy. He’s confined to his crate for the next 10 to 14 days, but I’m relieved to see him slowly regaining some energy. Every day, I do my best to care for him and make sure he’s comfortable, but it’s been overwhelming—especially since I’m currently out of work.
The costs of the surgery and his special food have added up quickly, and I’m reaching out for help because I want to give Scooby the best chance at a full recovery. Asking for support isn’t easy, but Scooby means the world to me, and I owe it to him to humble myself and ask friends, family, and anyone who cares about animals for help. Any support you can give would mean so much to both of us. Thank you for reading our story and for considering helping Scooby heal.
