Help Us Care for Scooby, My Late Son’s Beloved Companion

I never imagined I would be writing something like this.

My son passed away, and in the midst of that unbearable loss, one living piece of him remains with us—his dog, Scooby. This dog wasn’t just a pet. She was my son’s constant companion, his comfort, his responsibility, and a source of unconditional love during some of the hardest moments of his life.

Since my son’s passing, we have taken on the care of Scooby as a way to honor him. Caring for this dog feels like caring for a part of my son that’s still here. Unfortunately, Scooby is now in need of urgent veterinary care. The cost of exams, treatment, medications, and potential procedures is something we just can't afford.

I am still navigating grief while trying to do right by the one thing my son loved so deeply. I don’t want finances to be the reason Scooby suffers or goes without the care she deserves. Asking for help is not easy, but I’m doing it for my son and for the dog who depended on him and now depends on us.
