Help SCHS Reach More Cats in Need

Tax deductible
SCHS started offering low-cost spay/neuter clinics to Sullivan County and the surrounding area 14 years ago. This year, on June 12th, SCHS will hit the goal of fixing 10,000 cats!!! That is INCREDIBLE! This prevented a minimum of 20,000 unwanted births (meaning there are not enough homes for every cat born). Had these cats not been fixed and the offspring of these cats had litters of kittens, the number of births would be an unimaginable 200,000.

To celebrate this milestone, we are trying to raise $10,000 to put back into the programs that benefit from our low-cost clinics, such as:

Cats who are a part of our Fix-the-Mom program. Many families from the public have utilized this program, which includes spaying the mom (prior to being returned home) and all kittens (prior to being adopted). We have fixed hundreds of moms and kittens through this program.

Cats who are part of our TNR (trap/neuter/release) program. When cats are abandoned and are not fixed, this leads to kittens being born and never socialized, leading to a huge increase in the feral population.

Many cats surrendered to us with medical issues have resulted directly from not being fixed.

Paisley and Frankie both came to us with pyometra (an infection of the uterus) and required emergency surgery.

Callie-Flower, Oaklynn, and Guilianna were all surrendered and had mammary cancer that was so far advanced they were placed into fospice care to live what time they had left comfortably.

Kitties like Roe came to us in distress with a baby stuck in her birthing canal and required emergency surgery to save her life.

So much good comes from fixing animals. It eliminates unwanted litters, horrible infections, certain cancers, and lessens the chances of spreading certain diseases.

Please consider donating to this important cause and sharing far and wide so that we may help all the cats in need!

**A huge thank you to Dr. Sara White and her vet techs for their huge role in helping with this milestone and the many dedicated volunteers that make these clinics possible!**
