I am disabled and was recently homeless. After moving in with someone to escape homelessness, I became the victim of a violent sexual assault and abuse. Since then, I have been living with chronic pain and PTSD, which has made it impossible for me to work. I have been applying for SSDI since 2022, and while I was surviving off support from family and others, that support has ended. I am still waiting for SSDI approval, and the process is long and uncertain. The trauma from being abused and assaulted has deeply affected my ability to function day-to-day.
Right now, I am past due on rent and could face eviction and be forced back into homelessness unless I can find a way to pay this past due balance. My CalVCB approved funds for relocation, but that doesn't cover everything, such as past due rent or other fees. I am also waiting on Victims of Crime and SSDI benefits, but approval is not always easy and can take time.
All the funds raised will go directly toward catching up on my rent, bills, and expenses. This will help me stay in my home and give me some stability while I continue to navigate the challenges of my disability and recovery. Your support would mean the world to me, and I would sincerely thank and appreciate anyone who can help—even a little bit makes a difference.
Thank you for reading my story and considering a donation. Your kindness and generosity can help me through this difficult time, and I am grateful for any support you can offer.
