Meet Scarlett, our beloved Twitch streaming companion!

Scarlett, aka Noodle, has been my loyal sidekick in real life and on my Twitch streams for almost two years, bringing joy to our community with her elbow nudges for treats and random appearances either during ad breaks or rolling around in the background.

In January, she suffered a serious leg injury after jumping off a couple of steps outside. What the vets first thought would heal on its own turned out to be more complicated. The vets first suggested we amputate her leg (NO!!), but after meeting with a specialty orthopedic vet surgeon he said that the leg could be saved! To save her leg, she now needs a tendon repair surgery and a specialty orthotic leg device to walk and play comfortably again, and to keep her 4 legs!

Scarlett's back left leg has always been fragile due to a previous surgery as a puppy to correct a birth defect in her ankle. Now, the gastrocnemius and common tendon are separated, and she needs repair surgery followed by 6-12 months of rehabilitation.

Why We Need Your Help

Scarlett has pet insurance, which is expected to cover up to 80% of some medical costs. However, we are not sure that they will cover 80% of everything, and there will still be significant out-of-pocket expenses for things like pre-op care, specialty device fees, bandages, follow-ups, medications, and any unexpected things that could arise.

To date, the ER visit, x-rays, medications, and consults have been $1,763.62. So far insurance has covered $819.35. This means they haven’t covered EVERYTHING to date, but have paid 47% of what we have been charged so far.

The funds raised here will go directly toward Scarlett’s immediate and out-of-pocket needs, helping her get surgery and recovery care on schedule so she can walk, run, play and stream with us again!

Grand Total Estimated

Based on the quotes we’ve received so far from the orthopedic surgeon and the doctor making the orthotic device, we estimate the total cost to be approximately ~$9,583.96. Accounting for what we know insurance won’t cover (consult & appointment fees etc), our out-of-pocket after insurance pays should be between $4,100–$6,300.
