Help Scarlett Fight Leukemia~ Again
Our hearts are broken as we share that our sweet Scarlett’s leukemia has returned.
Scarlett was first diagnosed in January of 2023 at just 3 years old. She fought bravely for 800 days, and was finally able to ring her bell in April of this year. In a terrible twist of fate, our family has received the devastating news that her cancer has come back.
Scarlett is now 6 years old and preparing for a minimum four week hospital stay, with more treatments ahead. Scarlett will be receiving extremely intense chemotherapy and immunotherapy drugs, plus an invasive bone marrow transplant. This will result in extreme isolation and extended hospital stays for the foreseeable future. After everything she’s already endured, having to walk this road again feels unbearable. Scarlett was finally starting to enjoy life without carrying around the overwhelming weight of being a child with cancer. She was briefly able to experience what a normal child is able to day to day, for less than a year. That is now being ripped away from her, and essentially her sister, for the second time.
Her parents, Hayli and Jon, have not yet fully recovered, emotionally or financially, from Scarlett’s first battle. Jon will need to take time off work so they can care for Scarlett and rotate being by her side in the hospital, while also making sure their younger 4 year old daughter Juliette is cared for during this incredibly difficult time.
No family should have to worry about bills, lost wages, meals, travel, and everyday expenses while fighting for their child’s life, but unfortunately, that’s the reality they are facing.
We are asking for help to ease the financial burden so Hayli and Jon can focus on what matters most: being present for Scarlett and Juliette during this unimaginable time. Every donation, share, and prayer makes a difference and means more than words can express.
