Hi, my name is Susan, and I’m proud to call Scarlet Keys one of my dearest friends on this planet.

Scarlet is an amazingly talented songwriter, educator, wife to her hubby, Greg and mother to her wonderful daughter, Claire. You might know her from having worked with her when she was a signed songwriter in Nashville. Or maybe, you were fortunate enough to have her as your teacher and mentor in her long career as a Songwriting Professor at the Berklee College of Music. Or maybe, you’ve taken her classes on-line or read her book or listened to her podcast! She’s put so many wonderful things out into the world! If you have known her in any way, you would know that she is one of the kindest, funniest and sweetest people out there. She’s also a great storyteller, and it is time for me to tell her story:

Just a few short weeks ago, Scarlet found a suspicious lump in one of her breasts. Luckily, she has a friend who also happens to be a nurse who also happens to be a neighbor who checked her out and got her into a mammogram the very next day. Unluckily, the results were the dreaded “C” word.

I have created this GoFundMe on Scarlet's behalf in response to those who have reached out wanting to show her their support. As many of you know, the road to recovery can be long and hard and there will be medical expenses and other unexpected costs. These are simply added stresses to an already difficult journey for Scarlet and her family.
