Scarlet is our beloved 7-year-old Brittany and she’s truly part of our family. She’s an avid pheasant hunter and her daily walks to the beach in Pacifica are a cherished routine for all of us. Recently, Scarlet was diagnosed with Cushing’s disease, a common but serious endocrine disorder in dogs that causes her body to produce excessive cortisol. This condition has brought a host of challenges—she’s experiencing recurring UTI's, increased thirst, lethargy and some terrible changes to her skin. It’s been heartbreaking to see her energy and spirit affected.

We’ve already invested in multiple blood and urine tests, and her most recent eight-hour test suggests she may have the adrenal version of Cushing’s, which is more complex and requires confirmation with an $750+ ultrasound. If confirmed, Scarlet will likely need surgery, followed by lifelong monitoring and medication. The financial burden is taking its toll, but we are determined to give Scarlet the best chance at a happy, healthy and long life. She means the world to us, and we can’t imagine our family without her!
