Hi everyone, my name is Camden, and this is my dog, Scar. He just turned 2 years old this month but at the same time we got some unfortunate news.

Scar was recently diagnosed with TVT (Transmissible Venereal Tumor), a rare form of cancer. He has a tumor growing in his right nostril, which is making it hard for him to breathe properly.

My old roommate and I rescued Scar while I lived in Arizona after he was found abandoned on an Indian Reservation. He quickly became my ESA and helped me with a lot through the struggles of moving to a new area and living on my own for the first time. Scar and I have both come a long way from where we were when he was found, and I hope to get to continue getting to move through life with him.

Scar will need to undergo chemotherapy and receive follow up scans to monitor the tumor and track his recovery. The good news is that proper TVT treatment has a very high success rate, and Scar has a strong chance at a full recovery and a long, happy life.

Without treatment, Scar runs the risk of having the cancer spread. With the location of the tumor it can easily spread to his brain causing many more complications and a much worse prognosis then what he has currently been given.
