Help Saya Enjoy Her Last Joyful Months

Donation protected
Creating this fundraiser feels like a nightmare. Last week, I received the devastating news that my incredible service dog, Saya, has an aggressive form of cancer. The vets have given her an estimated six months, though I'm holding onto every hope for more precious time with her.

Right now, the only thing I can truly do for her is to manage her pain and secondary infections, and do my absolute best to take her on all the adventures she loves. Saya's favorite thing has always been going places—it doesn't really matter where. Her eyes light up when she gets to chase butterfly shadows, squirrels, and lizards. She throws herself into the ocean as if she was once a mermaid returning to sea. Even the simple joy of driving with her head out the window, cheeks flapping in the wind.

Saya isn't just my service dog; she's a light in so many lives. She adores kids and has helped countless little ones conquer their fear of big dogs. Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting her knows what a sweet queen she is. When I went on a hunt nine years ago for a service dog, I couldn't have imagined finding such a unicorn. Saya is the kind of dog who teaches you what unconditional love truly is, and all I can do for her now is make her the star of the show.

Her vet bills have already started adding up with countless visits, lab work, and medications. When her time comes, it's my hope to give her a humane euthanasia at home where she feels calm and comfortable. Until then, I want to fill her days with delicious treats (trying to keep weight on her), long car rides, and places where she can explore off-leash. Financially right now, the only way I can make that happen is by leaning on our community.

This is where I truly need your help. I'm asking for support to cover these crucial costs, ensuring Saya's final months are filled with comfort, joy, and the adventures she lives for:

  • Ongoing Vet Care & Medications: prescription pain meds & high dose CBD, lab work for cultures and antibiotics as infections continue to be an issue, and anti-itch medication for allergies because being in pain from cancer seems like enough uncomfortable.

  • Lab work to check her calcium levels and make sure infections have cleared.

  • At-Home Euthanasia: So she doesn’t feel stressed going to the vet for her final moments. She deserves a peaceful and loving farewell in the comfort of our home when it’s her time. Both for her happiness and so her kitty brothers know she won't be returning to us.

The vet bills from her infections have been piling up since November.
Your support helps provide her & I more together time and more time for her out in the world where she loves to be.

Thanks for supporting us.
