There isn’t a person in England who crossed paths with Sonya Ann Moss and didn’t leave smiling.

Her laughter was infectious. Her heart was enormous. And if you were lucky enough to know her, you’ll know that kindness wasn’t just something she showed — it was who she was.

Sonya passed away peacefully but unexpectedly on Tuesday 3rd February, leaving behind a family and community who are heartbroken by her loss. The Thatcham community has lost one of its brightest lights. She was the woman who would check in on you when you were struggling, who would put the kettle on without asking, who would quite literally give you the shirt off her back — even if she had very little herself.

She gave so much to so many.

Now it’s our turn to give something back to her.

We want to honour Sonya with the most beautiful and respectful send-off — one filled with love, warmth and the same generosity of spirit she showed every day of her life.

The funeral costs are £6,500, with 50% required upfront to secure the date. At the moment, we simply don’t have the funds available to cover the deposit. Waiting months to raise the money ourselves feels unbearable — she deserves to be laid to rest peacefully and without delay.
