Help Sawa and popup bars reopen and support the staff

As many Yinzers know, Market Square construction has strained so many businesses in the square and because of this we had to temporarily close for the time being. Sawa Wine Bar opened in March of 2025 and took off with a boom. On top of this, the popup bars above Sawa were a hit and was everyone`s favorite Christmas bar. Sawa is a fusion wine bar in downtown Pittsburgh with the flair of Lebanon, Greece, and Italy, it is something Pittsburgh never saw before. Hosting Lebanese Nights with belly dancers and a live band, as well as Greek and Italian nights, Sawa was the place to be downtown. Sawa served a large variety of wine, had 20 beers and ciders on tap, and a full bar with specialty cocktails. Serving a mix of heavy charcuterie and heavy tapas, your Mediterranean cravings were always met.

Sawa in Arabic means together..... and that is exactly what we did...... we brought people together to enjoy our beautiful cultures. Our family has put our heart and souls into this business as well as our livelihood. So we are asking for you to come together with us and support us during this hard time in downtown Pittsburgh.

Sawa is committed to reopening and keeping staff on board. Whether our location is in Market Square or not, Sawa will not give up. The popup bars will continue throughout the city as well! As you know, the city has not helped in the way that businesses in Market Square needed. Any donations to keep Sawa alive in downtown Pittsburgh are much appreciated.

We will be using funds to take care of the expenses needed to reopen, as well as taking care of staff to keep them for reopening.

We plan on reimbursing all donations in 2026 after we are back on our feet. We also will be offering 20% off discounts for all donors whether it is at Sawa, our Popup Bars around the city, or at any Pittsburgh Popup event.
