Help Save Zoey
Our sweet girl Zoey, a 6-year-old German Shepherd-Shiba mix, is fighting for her life right now. Out of nowhere, Zoey started struggling to breathe — something no pet parent ever wants to see. We rushed her to the emergency vet, where we got the heartbreaking news: she has a pneumothorax, meaning air is trapped in her chest and her lungs can’t fully expand. The cause is unknown, but it’s serious and life-threatening.
Zoey is currently hospitalized and receiving around-the-clock care. She’s already had bilateral thoracocentesis to remove air from her chest, and the vets may need to place chest tubes or even perform surgery to save her life. The total cost of treatment is estimated at $20,000 — far more than we can afford alone.
Zoey has been part of our family since she was a tiny pup. She’s playful, loving, and full of personality — always ready to greet everyone with her bright eyes and happy tail. Seeing her hooked up to machines, fighting to breathe, has been devastating.
We’re doing everything we can to give Zoey the chance she deserves, but we truly need help. Every donation — no matter how small — brings us one step closer to keeping her with us. If you’re unable to donate, please share Zoey’s story to help us reach others who might be able to help.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, sharing, and caring. Zoey means the world to us, and your kindness gives us hope during the hardest time we’ve ever faced.
With love and gratitude,
Scott and Melanie
