Two weeks ago, I adopted Ziggy, an 8-month-old cat, from Desert Cat Rescue through Petsmart. From the moment I brought him home, I hoped to give him a wonderful life. But soon after, I noticed Ziggy was much less playful than a typical kitten and wasn’t eating much. Concerned, I took him to the vet, where bloodwork and other tests revealed he most likely has FIP—a diagnosis that used to be fatal, but now has a treatment option.
The treatment for FIP is a long and demanding process. Ziggy needs constant monitoring, regular bloodwork, and a 12-week course of daily medication. Unfortunately, the cost of this care is more than I can financially handle. I am already so attached to Ziggy and can’t imagine returning him, knowing he might not get another chance. I rescued him to give him a loving home, and I want to do everything possible to help him fight this illness.
I’ve never started a GoFundMe before, and honestly, I don’t know what else to do or where to turn. Any support to help Ziggy get the care he needs would mean the world to us. Thank you for reading our story and considering a donation to help save Ziggy’s life.
