Help Save Zeus – Our Brave Kitty Fighting FIP
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kennedey and recently our family was hit with devastating news. Meet Zeus – our playful, affectionate, and endlessly curious young cat who has brought so much joy and comfort into our lives in such a short time. Whether he’s chasing mice or curling up beside our laps with his soft purrs, Zeus is more than a pet – he’s family.
Recently, our sweet boy was diagnosed with wet FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) – a rare and devastating illness that affects cats, especially young ones like Zeus. FIP is caused by a mutation of a common feline coronavirus and, without treatment, it is almost always fatal. The “wet” form of FIP causes fluid buildup in the abdomen or chest, leading to labored breathing, a painful bloated belly, fever, and heartbreaking lethargy in cats who were once full of life.
We were crushed by the diagnosis – but we quickly learned that there is hope. Antiviral treatments now exist that have helped save thousands of cats around the world. These medications are effective, but they are very expensive and not currently licensed in many places. A full course can cost several thousand dollars, and it must be administered daily over the course of 84 days, with regular vet visits and blood work to monitor progress.
We’re determined to fight for Zeus. He’s too young, too loved, and too special to give up on. But we can’t do it alone.
We are asking for help – any donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to giving Zeus a real chance at life. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing his story. Your support means the world to us.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us save our little warrior.
With hope and gratitude,
❤️ Zeus & family
