My niece and I along with other family members are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for help for a very special boy named Zeke. Zeke is a 2½-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog—beautiful, full of life, and deeply loved. He isn’t just a dog; he is my niece’s fur baby, her constant companion, her loyal protector, and without a doubt a total mama’s boy.

Despite how careful his mom and dad are with him, Zeke did what curious, mischievous puppies sometimes do. He is believed to have swallowed a sock, which has led to a very serious medical emergency. He is currently at the veterinary hospital undergoing tests, and doctors are concerned he may be developing sepsis, a life-threatening condition.

Right now, the medical team is spending the day rehydrating and stabilizing Zeke so that he is strong enough to undergo emergency surgery in the morning. This surgery is critical to saving his life.

Zeke’s mom and dad are absolutely devastated and focused on doing everything possible to help their baby pull through. The unexpected cost of emergency care, testing, hospitalization, and surgery is overwhelming, and that’s why we are asking for help.
