My name is Edward and I have worked to raise awareness and funds for Gaza over the past year. During this time, I met my dear friend, Ibrahim and his sister Mays and their parents. I created this campaign to help his family. Please donate as much as you can.
Life of Ibrahim's family during the war
Unable to endure the harsh living conditions in Gaza, they face hunger and suffer from pre-existing health conditions. Every day, the situation worsens. Ibrahim's family's suffering began when they were forced to flee to southern Gaza. They have been displaced six times during this war, each journey more terrifying than the last. During one escape attempt, a girl was shot from the top floor of an UNRWA school. They walked in horrible conditions, under the sounds of shelling and extreme danger. Ibrahim's family's suffering increased when Ibrahim was captured at a checkpoint and spent 30 days in prison. These were the most difficult days for Ibrahim's family and were particularly difficult for Ibrahim's mother, who fasted until Ibrahim was released from prison. When she heard Ibrahim's name, she would faint. They live in a very small tent. Winter does not alleviate their suffering, as rain floods their tent and leaves them soaked. They also suffer from food shortages, which have led to loss of food.
All the family members have lost weight and face exhaustion from daily hard work and exposure to the sun. The family has been struck by a succession of illnesses, including hepatitis, which has been particularly devastating due to the lack of medicine and healthy food. They lack access to proper healthcare and emergency services. They lack the basic necessities of life, are forced to dig deep holes to drain latrines, and face enormous challenges in purchasing food and obtaining water. Even food outlets are targeted and dangerous. Ibrahim told me, "We cannot bear the harsh living conditions and extreme hunger, along with our poor health. The situation is getting worse by the day. We have been struck by illness after illness. We cannot access adequate healthcare and emergency services. I work in a kiosk from morning to night to support the family. Please help us."
Please consider donating. Even if the war ended today, nothing would remain of the house, as it was completely destroyed by the war. Now things are even more uncertain with renewed hositilities. Ibrahim's family has no real income and every donation will help to provide food and clothing.
Thank you!
