Help save Y.H. Printing Inc!

Hi, my name is Elise, and I'm hoping to raise funds for my dear neighbor Desmond Yeoh.

 

Desmond is the owner of Y.H. Printing Inc, located at 23 Essex Street, Basement, New York NY 10002.

 

When I moved to New York, I first met Desmond outside Y.H. Printing Inc, and we struck up a conversation. Ever since that first meeting five years ago, Desmond has been a constant person in my life. We talk every day – checking in on each other, discussing business, and just to say hi.

 

Desmond was born in Malaysia, where he went to school for printing from age 16. He moved to New York in 1989 in search of a better life, where he opened his first print shop in 1996 on Orchard & Division Street. Desmond originally had multiple shop locations but downsized to his current workshop on 23 Essex Street. His original print shop has since been turned into the popular restaurant, Kiki's. However, you can still see his sign on the exterior of the building.

 

Desmond runs Y.H. Printing Inc with his wife, Helen. Like most businesses during the past 2+ years, they are on the brink of closing their doors due to financial strain. Desmond is feeling extreme pressure and is losing sleep at night over the stress.

 

Desmond and Helen are New York staples, and we need to keep printing gems like Y.H. Printing Inc alive. All funds raised will be used towards taxes, accountant fees, rent, repairs.

Funds raised will go directly to the beneficiary, Helen (Poh Hiong Teoh), wife of Desmond Yeoh. The funds will cover outstanding loans and taxes owed by YH Printing. Plus will aid in the repair of print machinery, by the likes of the beloved Letterpress so that YH Printing can continue on.
