Help Save Yahya’s Life - Thymus Transplant After 2-Year Wait

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

I’m writing this as a mom of seven, asking for help for our son Yahya. He is 3 years old and has been fighting for his life since the day he was born.

Yahya was diagnosed with athymia, a rare and life-threatening condition that means his body does not have a functioning immune system. Because of this, he has spent so much of his little life in and out of the hospital with recurring infections. At just one year old, he had to undergo a tracheotomy to help him breathe safely. Watching your child go through so much at such a young age is something no parent is ever prepared for.

For the past two years, we have been waiting, hoping, and praying for a chance at treatment. And by the grace of God, that moment has finally come. Yahya has been approved for a thymus implant, a life-saving procedure that could give him the immune system his body has never had.

This surgery is only performed in one place in the United States, in North Carolina (and one center in the UK). In order to move forward, our family will need to temporarily relocate there for Yahya’s care before and after the surgery to make sure his body is stable and healing properly.

We are a family of 9, with seven children, and while we are incredibly grateful and hopeful for this opportunity, this journey has also placed a significant emotional and financial strain on our family. Between travel, housing, time away from work, and medical-related needs, the costs add up quickly.

We are humbly asking for your support, whether that is through donating, sharing our story, or keeping Yahya in your prayers. Truly, every single share helps us reach more people, and every prayer means more than we can put into words.

We believe God has carried Yahya this far for a reason, and we are holding onto faith as we take this next step. We pray for a successful surgery, for his body to accept this gift, and for the day we can finally bring him home healthier and stronger.

Thank you for being part of our village and for helping us give our son a chance at the life he deserves.
