Jeremy and Jaime Hargett are two of the nicest, most down to earth people in the exotic animal community.
Late last year, they took it upon themselves to take over Animal Adventures in Okeechobee, Florida and in turn they renamed it "Wild at Heart Wildlife Center.”
In an effort to improve the facility and operations as well as to reestablish compliance with state and federal animal care regulations, Jeremy and Jamie have initiated several improvements including reducing the number of resident animals and also by placing numerous species from the previous owner into permanent forever homes. They care for CLASS 1, 2, and 3 wildlife including venomous reptiles. Class 1 and 2 are Lions, Tigers, Bears, Chimpanzees, etc. Jeremy is also a licensed wildlife rehabber, which includes birds of prey.
Due to the lack of finding suitable and dedicated workers, the burden of maintaining an entire zoo is essentially on two-three people.
We call on the community to help get the zoo back up and running by giving a small donation since the costs are beginning to mount as they aren't officially open yet to the public.
These are the people who would do anything for any of their friends and often times go out of their way to do so.
