Help Save Wheat Ridge Poultry's Legacy

When my sister posted that she was going to have to close our family’s shop, I figured there would be a few reactions, but I was overwhelmed by the response. Reading the comments truly warmed our team’s heart and gave us hope, which is something our family hasn’t had for some time. My sister is a very prideful person and hates asking for help, but our family and our team are in need.
If you know anything about Wheat Ridge Poultry, you understand our commitment to our community. Since 2015 , we have worked with 24 food pantries to get more than 10 tons of locally produced food to those struggling with food insecurity; donated more than 500 Thanksgiving and Christmas meals and 1,500 turkeys and hams to families in need; cooked and delivered over 5,000 hot meals to the unhoused in our community; offered free retail and zero commission space to more than 100 local producers to assist in the growth of their businesses; brought back the Wheat Ridge Farmer’s Market that offered a free booth with zero commission to vendors as young as 9 years old; opened and housed the first community fridge in Wheat Ridge that offers free food and pantry items to our neighbors; donated tons of food to the tigers at the aquarium and wolf sanctuaries that would have normally ended up in landfills and acted as a life line to the community during the pandemic when large grocery store shelves were empty.
Over the past few years, our family has been challenged with cancer, the loss of parents, attempted suicide, double digit theft from a business associate, and the sudden and unexpected loss of my brother-in-law, the business owner.
These challenges are not only affecting our ability to keep our business open, but we are also facing the potential loss of our family home and new health issues from the stress. My niece and nephew are not only dealing with the loss of their father but are now seeing their mom in full relapse of her autoimmune disease. It’s hard enough for children to deal with these issues but it has been even more difficult for her autistic son who finds it difficult to understand what is happening around him.
Wheat Ridge Poultry has been operating since 1942! We want to stay in this community. Our family wants to continue to work in this community and we are asking for your help with staying in Wheat Ridge.
We have a team of 9 individuals who have remained committed to my sister, this company, and this community.
Any donation would be greatly appreciated and will be used to help save our family business and take care of our team and their families.
