Help Save Wethersfield’s Community Ambulance!

Donation protected
The State has approved replacing WEMSA — Wethersfield’s trusted, non-profit ambulance service for nearly 70 years — with Aetna Ambulance, a large for-profit company owned by Hartford Healthcare and Prospect Medical Holdings, which is now in bankruptcy.

This decision, made behind closed doors and without cause, threatens local emergency care. Unlike other towns, WEMSA gets no subsidy: we buy our own ambulances, supplies, and even pay rent to the Town.

Aetna wants a monopoly, putting profits before patient safety. WEMSA keeps three ambulances in Wethersfield at all times — Aetna will commit to only one, often coming from outside town, risking deadly delays.

We’re fighting this in State Court to protect fast, reliable EMS for Wethersfield, Newington, Rocky Hill, Glastonbury, and all our neighbors. We can’t do it alone — we need your help to cover legal costs.

Please donate to WEMSA today. Your support keeps emergency care local, fast, and focused on patients — not profits.
