Help Save Wednesday Magica Crash

We adopted Wednesday Magica Crash in May of 2020, after Eric’s therapy cat Magic passed away. We were devastated by his loss, but when we saw our Wednesday we knew we had to intervene. When we met her she was living in a cat hoarder’s apartment in Los Angeles. When we first saw her she was: Emaciated, covered in seed ticks, infested with fleas and ear mites, and both of her eyes were badly infected and oozing yellow pus. She was the runt of her litter. There was no way we could leave her there, and we took her home expecting that she would pass away, but that at least she would have a clean bed to rest in. She weighed 6 ounces, which is less than a can of red-bull, and she was five weeks old.

From that day on Wednesday never stopped amazing us with her progress. Vet visit after visit, she improved. We saw her drink her first water, grow a beautiful black coat, and thrive beyond what we ever imagined could be possible. The first weeks were tough--we had to wake up every 4 hours to feed her and change her hot water bottle, but it was worth it. I had never seen such a sweet and deserving cat. We watched as her eyes cleared up of infection, and turned a beautiful pumpkin color. We watched as her body gained strength and she darted about the room doing acrobatic tricks. She never stopped amazing us--but something was off.

No matter how much money we spent on the best care, it seemed there were always little problems popping up. She went into the vet every month at least once for something: rashes, respiratory infections, and then finally small seizures. After the seizures we did some diagnostics to confirm that Wednesday had a liver problem. We learned that not only did she have a liver problem, but it was one that would cut her life expectancy. Without an operation, she would only live 2 months-2 years. Wednesday is almost 2 years now, and she’s getting weaker. If we are able to provide this surgery, she could live a full and healthy life. We are scrambling to find the resources to send her to a veterinarian at the University of Davis who specializes in this exact surgery. Without it, she will die.

We have spent thousands of dollars on diagnostics to figure out what is wrong, and that’s fine. We are happy to deplete all of our resources to give her a chance to stay alive. We are, however, running out of resources. We don’t have all of the money we need for this. As it stands we have spent thousands on her and we are looking at having to spend $10,000 more. If you can donate, please do. Please help us keep this amazing kitty alive. She has gone through so much, and she has a determination to live--She has proved that just by making it this far. Please help us give her this chance.

Much love,

Eric and Savannah
