We're seeking immediate help for our kitty, Waffle, who was injured on October 11th. We are not certain if he was clipped by a car or if someone may have intentionally tried to hurt him. He came home with a broken jaw, broken nose, and a lacerated tongue, and in a lot of pain. We rushed him to the emergency vet, who is keeping him stable over the weekend, but we will have to go to Knoxville on Monday, October 13th, to the University of Tennessee Veterinary Orthopedic Center to have surgery to fix his jaw, which is broken in multiple places on the top and bottom. He will need to be fed through a feeding tube for at least 1 month while he heals.

Waffle, who we affectionately call Mr. Baby, is only 2 and a half years old and the sweetest boy. He is so important to our family, and we are not going to give up on him because of the high cost of this treatment plan. We do have Care Credit, but I'm also facing two root canals and wisdom tooth removal next month, and my credit limit is only so high. We're trying to raise at least half of the estimated amount for this surgery and hospital stay through crowdfunding. I am happy to upload all bills and expenses for transparency. I will not upload any post-injury pictures of Waffle at this time because they are too distressing, though after his surgery, as he starts to get better, I may post some healing pictures and updates. The doctors expect him to recover well, and he should have a mostly normal quality of life if everything goes well. He has two brothers who he is closely bonded with and his mother also lives with us. He is a little light in our family, and losing him would be devastating for me, my kids, and my husband, with whom he has especially taken up.

The estimated cost for surgery is around $8,000, and I've already spent almost $3,000 for his hospital stay and treatment at the vet hospital. We are not wealthy and have no savings, but he does not deserve to be put down when he has so much love to give and a family willing to fight for him, especially if money is the only obstacle to him having a long and fulfilling life.
