Pls help save 15 year old from severe brain injury
Donation protected
A 15-year-old girl Vaishnavi met an accident on 29th September in India, she hit her head on the rail track causing severe brain injury, multiple skull fractures with significant bleeding in and around her brain. She underwent emergent surgery to relieve pressure on her brain. Neurosurgeons removed portion of her brain to drain the blood and subsequently performed multiple surgeries.
For last 2 months she was in coma, incubated and on ventilation going through additional surgeries and treatment. The nature of injury questioned her ability to survive however by god's grace and her strong will, her internal brain bleeding and swelling has eventually stopped, and she is off ventilation. Per doctors her survival is a miracle however she would need significant physical and occupational therapy as well as respiratory support that requires inpatient rehabilitation.
Her treatment till date has exhausted her health insurance coverage as family savings. At this point, she needs significant neurological rehabilitation to survive as well as recover from her current state. While the recovery time frame cannot be predicted we anticipate we would need on average at least $ 5,000 per month for 6 to 12 months to make treatment & rehabilitation available to her in India.
This event has drastically changed this school going girl’s path of life and she needs your help and wishes to bounce back. Any support will be deeply appreciated.
The money collected will be transferred to Vaishnavi’s mom’s account in India to support her rehabilitation expenses.
