Help Save Vader: Urgent Surgery Needed

Hello, my name is Jessica Chernutan and I am raising money to save my dog and lengthen his life. His name is Vader. He is a 10-year-old Yorkie-Terrier mix that my husband and I have had since he was 1. Last month, we took him to our vet at Bowie Drive Animal Hospital in Weatherford, TX, and were informed that he has a mass on his liver. Today, 2/28/25, we went in for a check-up. The mass has almost doubled in size and they are recommending surgery as quickly as possible.

On February 13th, 2025, I was informed that my job cut my hours in half due to no fault of my own until further notice. This has greatly impacted our family. I don't have children, and Vader is the closest I have to having children at this time. Vader has helped me in so many ways; when I was suffering from depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, suicidal thoughts, and entering therapy for my mental health. Through all of these challenges, to this day, he has always been there. He licked away my tears when I felt like not going on and felt like I lost my purpose in living. He is one of the loves of my life. He is my furry soulmate and is a huge part of our family. To lose him would kill me. To lose him due to no fault of his own and knowing I could've prevented it, the guilt would haunt me for the rest of my life. He has brought so much joy to our family and to everyone he has come in contact with, including the residents at the Alzheimer's and Dementia unit I work at. I try to take Vader to the unit on dog therapy days. We applied for CareCredit to help with vet bills and were denied. The surgery is approximately $1,068, not including taxes.

We are trying to gather as much money as we can through work, selling dog biscuits, doing crafts, providing cleaning services to homes/offices, and officiating weddings. I'm trying to do anything I can on my own, but I need help from the community. We are trying so hard, but we need help so we do not lose our baby. I am beyond grateful and humbled for any help.
