Help with 2 cats shot by a neighbor
Hello I am currently at the er with my one cat who they want to keep for bullet wound that traveled thru her whole belly. My bill is 4k so far and I spent 1k last night on the both cats cause my other got shot too. I need to take the other one in as well but she was not as bad being hit in the shoulder but I have to keep an eye on her she has some blood in urine bullet still in her. My other one hit in the abdomen needs help now. Please help with whatever you can. I foster as well (currently have four looking for good homes please note if you know anyone) I'm always helping animals and other people I need my karma back to me now please
UPDATE: Hey guys I had forgot to come back on here and give more detail. I created this in the ER and it was so so very hectic. Plus I rescue and foster cats so it has been a lot to deal with these last couple days. Grateful I could take off of work but that also hits the pocket too unfortunately. Please share my story!
I currently have 4 of my own cats who have a catico and a whole climbing wall setup in my living room but man do they love the outdoors. I been taking them all outside now for 3 summers and they love it. They mostly stay in my yard and the yard next to us as it was empty for so long. Well this year we got new neighbors and I was so happy that they loved my cats and would play with them even. My two boys started wandering just maybe 1 or 2 houses down but always where I could get them back right away with a name call. I am home when they are out and I am constantly having them/me check in to see where they are. Well the girls especially my Inky the black one really started staying gone a little too long and wandering a little further. I am guessing some neighbors here in Bonnie Brae of Lockport Illinois didn't like that and even though my girls had harnesses on they shot them anyway. With a pellet gun, 22's, that had enough velocity to almost go in and out of Inkys shoulder and to travel through Parkours whole little insides. It went in her chest and is down near her tail end. We are monitoring her closely she has been to the ER 5 times. The poor girl I didn't even know she was shot I actually thought she was outside still and had my son go looking for her. I took Inky in to the ER where I will never ever go back to cause they did not even know was a bullet and you could clearly feel it if they had fully examined her. I came home from the ER about 6 pm to see Parkour shaking and not moving bleeding and throwing up. My poor girl was alone from 2:30 pm to 6 pm just hurt and scared. She is traumatized and while I thought yesterday she was doing better I see she is getting worse today Nov 13th. We are unsure of surgery as that can harm her digging around. We are just constantly monitoring and taking back and forth to the Lockport Animal hospital for checks. I am just devastated that a neighbor could do this. Please share my story to help. Help me with money help me with fosters help me keep cats indoors or on leashes or invisible fence even help me find the neighbors on a ring cam JUST SHARE TO HELP please. I really wish I could get in the paper to spread awareness. My own neighbor this is just awful.
UPDATE: Parkour finally pooped and ate then she threw up and was shaking. This week has been so so long many ups and downs. Many checks until we ended up needing an exploratory. She had to have 10 to 12 inches of intestines cut out and a mass full of pus sending for biopsy. She is in critical condition and we are waiting to see if everything holds together literally or she'll have to be put down. I'm a mess
UPDATE: Parkour is still not eating and is still in the hospital. I am now back at the vet with inky getting tests as she had some blood in urine and has been in pain jumping in and out of the litter box only peeing a couple drops. My head is killing me I'm just exhausted
UPDATE: Hey guys it has been crazy nonstop since Parkour finally came home last Tuesday. She was up and down so many times and back in and out of the vets. She was down to 6.3 pounds and very nauseated and shaking alot and just in pain it was really awful. Finally Saturday she seemed to be getting the hang of her new intestines and how to eat and walking around more. What a crazy long 16 days that was for me and I'm sure for her. She is fiesty when it is time for meds and hates that I check on her all the time. Im sure she cant wait to be back to her normal self i see her watching the other cats play. I am going to be doing everything i can to help her get there. I did miss a week of work over the two weeks and my health has taken a toll and we had some more vet visits. Even for Inky too she ended up with a UTI from stress. So please keep sharing my story!!
