Twinkie is a 3.5 year old fawn French Bulldog with the biggest personality in the smallest package. She loves everyone she meets and has been the heart of our little family through some of the hardest years of our lives.
Yesterday she started losing sensation in her limbs. Our vet in Costa Rica diagnosed suspected IVDD- a spinal condition that requires emergency intervention. Without a CT scan and likely surgery in San José, she could lose the use of her legs permanently or worse.
I’m currently in Toronto dealing with my own health crisis and caring for my mom who is seriously ill. My dogs are still in Costa Rica and I’ve been working to bring them home. This was the last thing we needed, and the timing couldn’t be harder.
This time last year I lost my French Bulldog Burrito to brain cancer. I fought for him with everything I had. I cannot lose Twinkie too. Not like this. Not when it’s treatable.
we need help covering emergency transport to San José, CT scan, surgery, and rehabilitation care. Every dollar gets us closer to bringing her back.
