Hi my name is Kate and my horse's name is Tucker. He has had a glowing career as a dressage horse and as a jumper. He is 18 yrs old. He loved his work, and loves life. He brings joy to everyone he meets. He is the love of my life. He retired in 2022 to a beautiful pasture but quickly began losing weight. Eventually ulcers were diagnosed and treated but he continued to feel ill and lose weight. He suffered a fever and had a bout of laminitis. He recovered from the laminitis but was still sick and losing weight. By early spring of 2023 he was on death's door and his illness remained undiagnosed. He had lost nearly a third of his body weight. After countless vet visits, diligent daily care, countless tests and countless medications he was diagnosed with internal pigeon fever. It nearly ate him up from the inside out. He now has the proper medication and is slowly recovering.

I need to keep treating him with medication and special food. He care remains extensive and expensive and I need help to keep this amazing horse alive. I have spent $15,000 and it is estimated that I will need another $10,000 to pay the final vet bill, provide the special food he still requires and give him the retirement he deserves.

The funds that are raised will be used thoughtfully and carefully, paying vet bills and paying for Tucker's food.
