Trixie is our 11-year-old long-haired chihuahua, and she is truly the heart of our family. We’ve had her since she was just 8 weeks old, and from the very beginning, she has been so much more than a pet—she’s our baby.

She has grown up alongside our kids and is their best friend, their comfort, and a constant source of love and joy. Trixie has touched not only our lives, but the lives of so many people who have met her. She has the sweetest soul and a personality that lights up every room.

Recently, our world was turned upside down. Trixie became very sick, and after rushing her to the vet, we were given devastating news: she is suffering from severe kidney failure.

The veterinarians have told us that she needs immediate, intensive treatment to have a chance at survival. This includes ICU and ER care, lab panels, a urine analysis, IV fluid treatment for 44 hours, an ultrasound, hospitalization, medications, and specialized testing. The estimated cost for her care is $5,436.

This is more than we can manage on our own, but we are not ready to give up on her. Trixie deserves a fighting chance, and we want to do everything we can to help her pull through.
