URGENT: Help Us Save Trico’s Life
On Friday, May 2nd around 5:30 PM, a severely injured cat was brought into Westbrook by a kind woman who found him on the side of the Whitemud bridge—panting from the heat, face covered in blood, and clearly in distress. With only one staff member present, our team sprang into action. The cat was deteriorating quickly—struggling to breathe, in obvious pain, and losing strength by the second.
Despite being off-duty, our doctor and a nearby technician rushed back to the clinic. They provided emergency oxygen and pain relief, working urgently to stabilize him. Upon examination, he was found to have multiple broken teeth, damaged paw pads, and likely more unseen injuries. With no microchip or collar, we had no way of knowing who he belonged to—or what had happened to him.
Fearing he had been abandoned and desperately needing care, we posted to Facebook, hoping someone would recognize him. Thanks to the incredible power of our community, you helped us identify him. His name is Trico. His owners had been searching for him after he escaped their home in Callingwood on May 1st. Given how far he was found and the condition he was in, we suspect he may have been taken and cruelly dumped.
While his family has been found, they are heartbroken and unable to afford the extensive treatment Trico now needs to survive. He will require dental surgery, continued pain management, and further diagnostics to assess internal damage.
We’re committed to doing everything we can to give Trico a chance—but we need your help. Every donation goes directly to his medical care and recovery.
Thank you to everyone who shared our post and helped us find his family. Now, let’s come together one more time—to save his life.
Please donate. Trico is fighting to live, and your support means everything.
