On June 3rd, 2025, our cat of 15 years blink passed away from saddle thrombus. After 4 months of mourning his loss, we decided that our other senior cat Bug needed a companion as well as us. We found a non-profit on Instagram called Calicatsanimalrescue here in Fresno through PetSmart. We adopted a 6-month-old kitten who we renamed Tippy after Tony Sopranos dog.

We noticed around week 3 that she was getting a bulging tummy which we thought was normal kitty fat. However, she began to show no interest in playing, wasn't eating, & was extremely lethargic. She was so loving & playful that we knew something was wrong. We made an appt with the vet and they suspected she had a virus called FiP.

Did you know that cats can catch the corona virus? Sadly, we had no idea that they could & when they do most of the time it's just mild diarrhea or no signs at all. However sometimes the virus will mutate inside the cat, and it interacts with the cat's immune system resulting into Fip (stokespharmacy). Of the 3 major types of Fip Tippy got the wet fip which causes fluid in the abdomen or the chest area. Her tummy is very full of fluid & the treatment for this type of Fip is extremely expensive.

Without it Tippy will absolutely die and from the moment we adopted her we made a promise to take care of her even if it means going into debt until we can figure things out. Weve only known her for a short time, but we love her so much and don't want to lose another kitty this year.

I've included a receipt in the photo that itemizes what they did for tippy that day which resulted into $1255.82. We also have to continue giving her the lifesaving medicine which is two pills a day for 84 days. She will also have weekly vet visits to monitor her weight and progress to adjust the prescription as needed but we have to do the full 84 days in order to kill the virus and save her.

The miracle drug Tippy will need is from StokesPharmacy which totals $1,182 to fill the entire prescription. Kevin and I have spent all of our money to save this poor girl, and we are struggling everyday as we live paycheck to paycheck. We understand that times are rough right now but if anyone can spare any amount at all that will help alleviate some of the financial burden to save this kitty will be greatly appreciated.
