Our Story…
Hello my name is Joe ….
Our little rescue dog Tinkerbell was hit in a horrific hit-and-run in Werribee South last Saturday night.
She was thrown off a bridge into a creek and left fighting for her life. (PLEASE SEE LATEST UPDATE, WE HAVE REMOVED TINKERBELL FROM THIS HELL HOLE GREENCROSS VET HOSPITAL as of yesterday evening. )
She’s now at Greencross Veterinary Hospital in a stable condition, but she urgently needs surgery and further treatment to survive.
We’ve already paid $4500, but the hospital has confirmed that tinks treatment will be $20,000 in total which another instalment of $3000 will need to be paid today to continue her care.
We’re devastated and doing everything we can — but we need help.
What happened
Last night our world changed in an instant.
Our beloved rescue dog Tinkerbell, who we adopted from Lort Smith less than two years ago, was struck by a speeding driver in a violent hit-and-run on a narrow bridge in Werribee South.
The impact was so severe that her tiny body was thrown through the air, over the bridge barrier, and down into the creek below.
Our son William, and his cousin, witnessed everything.
The screams, the impact, the moment she disappeared over the edge — what they saw will stay with them forever.
When we reached her under the bridge, she was barely conscious — shaking, injured, and struggling to breathe.
The entire rear part of her body had been torn apart in the impact, leaving a large, deep wound that was bleeding heavily.
We held her gently, trying to comfort her, and rushed her straight to Werribee Veterinary Hospital.

Her Condition Now
Tinkerbell is stable, but far from safe.
She needs:
• Full scans
• Assessment by the surgical team
• Surgery
• Continuous monitoring and pain management
The fact she made it this far shows what a strong little fighter she is.

Why We Need Help
We have paid what we can — $4,500 — but the hospital needs another $3000 today to continue lifesaving treatment.
The driver who hit her:
• Has been identified
• Was being monitored by police
• Has been charged
• Was caught on police air surveillance
• Had his car impounded
Police told us we can apply for a restitution order, meaning we will be reimbursed —
but that could take months.
Tinkerbell doesn’t have months.
She needs help today.

How You Can Help
We are trying to raise as much as we can for our beautiful girl to keep her treatment going and give her the best chance of surviving. We need her home with us!
Every dollar helps — even $5.
If you cannot donate, sharing this page helps more than you know.

A Message From Our Family
Tinkerbell isn’t just a dog.
She is our little girl.
She sleeps on our bed every night and follows us everywhere.
She has brought so much love and happiness into our home since the day we rescued her.
We are heartbroken, overwhelmed, and terrified of losing her — but we are not giving up.
Thank you for reading our story, sharing it, and helping us keep our little girl alive.
With love and gratitude,
Joe, Bree, Jake, Carissa, William, and Tinkerbell
