Help Save Tiger - Lilly

Dear Friends, Family, Pet Parents, and Animal Lovers,

My name is Liza Mardoyan and I am the proud mama of my beautiful fur baby girl Tiger – Lilly, whom I raised since she was an 8-week old kitten. Tiger-Lilly is asking for your support with surgical and hospital bills and here is her story.

She was given a clean bill of health in May, but things started to turn around quickly in July with her soiling outside the litter box. The vet thought that it was a urine infection or behavioral and prescribed antibiotics and Feliway. But my mommy intuition was signaling that something was off with my baby. So, I went above and beyond and asked for an abdominal ultrasound. Unfortunately, my gut feeling was correct.

Tiger-Lilly was diagnosed with a very rare (3% in felines) right-sided adrenal gland tumor measuring 1 inch = 2.5 cm, that is secreting high levels (4000) of aldosterone hormone (normal level should be 300). This hormone is causing her to lose potassium via urinating and retaining sodium and water, which in turn is increasing her Blood Pressure. This is an underdiagnosed condition and is often mistaken with Feline Kidney Failure, and many cats perish without having a chance for a cure. I am an advocate to educate about this condition.

Medical management has guarded prognosis of a couple of months of low-quality life with multiple doses of many daily medications to administer and frequent blood tests. On the other hand, surgery and removal of the tumor is a gold standard in the literature and is curative. Once the tumor is removed, all abnormalities reverse course. Currently, she is a great candidate and is cleared for surgery for this week, and all tests point that the tumor is benign. If we wait any longer, she might deteriorate and not be eligible for surgery.

Tiger-Lilly does not have pet insurance, and the surgery is expensive because it includes three days of post-op hospital stay. I am currently working part-time and cannot cover the entire cost of the surgery.

It was an agonizing decision to opt for the surgery, but this is my only hope to save my intelligent, adventurous, playful, curious, cuddly, and Purr-Queen baby, to give her the quality of life that she deserves, and more time to spend with mommy and her brother George.
Tiger - Lilly is also my emotional support animal, and even now, in her condition, she is the one who is taking care of my apprehension by perching on my chest and purring. She means the world to me, and I cannot imagine life without her.
During these festive days, in the spirit of Thanksgiving and Giving Tuesday, please help Tiger-Lilly through this serious surgery. Donations, prayers, and Paws-itive thoughts are welcome. No amount is too small and please share forward.

Be grateful for the health of your pets and family. Peace and Blessings to all of you.
