While picking up a child for school on Friday, I found a stray cat in need of medical attention. I brought the sweet girl to the vet where she had to stay all weekend, receiving continuous care and multiple treatments to help with hypothermia, hook worm, fleas, respiratory infection, dehydration, and anemia. I was able to bring her home last night to manage her body temperature because the vet does not have 24 hour care and no facilities were available. I then brought her back to the vet this morning for them to provide care during the day (IV fluids) and found out that she needed additional IV’s to assist with her autoimmune hemolytic anemia. She now is back under the care of the vet until she is able to maintain her body temperature and produce enough red blood cells to function. While the vet has offered affordable treatments and overnight stays, the number of treatments has resulted in high costs that continue to increase. Without the care provided by the exceptional vet staff, she would not have survived. We are looking for help in paying for her continued vet bills. Any little bit helps to make sure this kind and loving kitty makes it to her forever home. If you cannot donate, please share to help spread the word. We are actively working to get funding from local shelters but the process has not been easy and is not looking promising at this time. Thank you in advance for your kindness!
