Help save this old boy from being put down!

Hi, my name is Charlie and I’ve set up this GoFundMe for this beautiful stray cat The Mittenses.

This fella was the local 'hood cat in Kington St Michael. His offspring is everywhere and he has a gammy eye, so was taken to Garden Vets. Unfortunately after a week of treatment (funded by the RSPCA) his eye hasn’t improved and it’s going to need removing (cost of c.£800). He also has serious dental issues and needs teeth removing (c.£1000). He also needs neutering.

Colin, the man who took him to the vets, posted on Facebook because if he didn’t get an owner by the end of today (Friday 7 July 2023) he was going to be put to sleep. Colin and his family were unable to give him a home this fella is FIV+ and will need to spend the rest of his days as an indoor cat with other FIV cats or alone.

With the power of Facebook and Chippenham Notice Board, he found someone who wants to take him home, but the vets bill is too expensive to be able to afford it, so I am willing to front the cost - but I can’t afford the whole thing. We’ve been given a short reprieve by the vets to try to come up with the funds.

For clarity, RSPCA funded his care until now, but can’t fund the remaining treatment costs as he is old and never lived in a home so may not adapt well. We may still get funding from another rescue, and in which case we’ll give this money to them.
