Help save this critical animal rescue before it's too late

Kate has saved hundreds of animals from awful ends with her rescue Friends of Benelli Foundation. She helps feed thousands of street animals in six different countries every month. She supports 20 rescue partners in the USA, Venezuela, Peru, Lebanon, Turkey and the Dominican Republic.

But she might have to stop her rescue efforts now. She quit her full time job in 2020 to help raise money for these animals in honor of her rescue dog Benelli, a paralyzed dog she rescued from Honduras. Now, her husband has been laid off and had to take a lower paying job. Nationwide Insurance also dropped all of her special needs dogs, including Benelli, from their insurance plans.

And fundraising for all of these rescue partners was already difficult. Raising money for food, spays and neuters, and vaccinations is a grind.

I’ve been donating to her foundation for several years now. I have a monthly food donation all set up. It’s not the sexiest rescue work, but if you’ve ever seen starving animals who live on the streets, you know how important it is.

To make matters more dire, one of her partners in Venezuela, Jeniree, will have to shut down her shelter and release all her rescue dogs–many old and disabled—back onto the streets if she doesn’t raise money to pay her veterinary and food debt by April 1.
