Help Save This Brave Pup's Life and Give Him A Second Chance

Hello everyone, my name is Jocelyn Flores, and my mom Kimberly and I have been blessed to help this dog recover. On Tuesday, December 9, my mom was on her way to drop off my brother at work. While driving near the entrance of the freeway on Flower and Vernon, she witnessed a small dog running around the street. She then stopped and emergency parked to try to stop the cars from hitting the dog. While doing so, she witnessed a car run over this pup. She then ran towards him where a young lady also saw and tried to help. My mom saw the condition of the dog and immediately picked him up and moved him off the street. She took him to her car and laid him down. She and the young lady discussed what to do with the dog. Since my mother had prior plans to take my brother to work in O.C., she couldn't take the dog with her. So, the young lady took the small pup to get treated at a vet clinic on Jefferson Blvd, where they bandaged his back foot and gave him medication for his pain. Later, while my mom and the young lady kept in contact throughout the day, she told my mother she could not keep the pup due to her also having another dog that didn't get along with other animals. So, my mom offered to take in the dog. She then set up a space in my bedroom for the dog to sleep comfortably.

My mom and I discussed options on what we could do for the pup. We posted the dog on Facebook, Paw-boost, and the Neighborhood App. We tried our best to find the pup's owners, only to find out that the dog had no microchip.

Today, December 11, we took the dog to our vet. There, he examined the dog, scanned for a microchip again, and decided to take the dog for x-rays. After he took x-rays, he showed us that the fractures on the dog weren't on the leg or front paw. Rather, a bit more devastating news, he had suffered a fracture to both his back femur and front shoulder. This means that he needs immediate surgery to fix the fractures all at once. He's a growing baby, barely 4-5 months old, which the news devastated my mom and me. We asked what our options were for the dog. The doctor said two options: he either needs surgery as soon as possible, or to put him to sleep. Hearing the news, we couldn't bear to let him go. He is so full of life, he is so energetic, and although in pain from the sharp fractures, he's showing us how he wants to fight for his life and to be loved and cared for correctly. We left with spending 400 dollars on just the x-rays and medication. So, my mother and I left with him and some medication to help with his pain back home to his bed. There he rests currently, medicated and with a full belly of homemade soup, with blankets and pillows, to give him the love and support that he needs.

Now with all of this, my mother and I please ask you to share or, if you can, donate any money to our cause to help him live and give him a better chance at life. My mom believes that God put him in our path for a reason. He resembles so much of our latest dog that we believe it is also a sign. We never gave up on any of our loved pets because they are our family. We would love to do the same thing for this young pup if you guys can give us the chance to. So, please, if you can donate, share, comment, and please, anything will help. Thank you!
