Help Save These Precious Foster Kittens
Donation protected
We love fostering and it’s mostly an awesome volunteer experience until it’s not. Once babies get sick, it changes the game quickly. I don’t usually post the bad stuff because it’s hard to see and watch, but it is part of fostering. The group I brought to the vet last week took a turn for the worst. I honestly have never seen anything like this outside of the panleukopenia virus, which is pretty horrific. The vet said the group had a bad Upper Respiratory Infection, but now I think it has turned into pneumonia. The vet said to treat it symptomatically. They seemed like they were getting better at first and then rapidly declined. We lost the beautiful mom before we could get them back to the vet and two of her babies. We have three left just clinging to life by sheer force of will. We have them on medication, subQ fluids (thanks to Hoffmeyer Rescue), and nebulizer treatments; but, what they really need is an incubator with oxygen capability to help with their stuffy nose and gaspy breathing. We have shopped around and want to go with the equipment that the Kitten Lady, Hannah, recommends but it is extremely expensive. The total is high. We are going to buy it regardless and if anyone can help with the cost, we would really appreciate it. Watching these little guys suffer is painful, and we are not willing to give up on them yet. It’s been about 8 days of the rough time, and they are trying to live. This equipment will also help the next group sooner.
