My name is Mckenna, and I’m raising funds to help our alpacas recover after the Bald Range Fire made its way into Garnet Valley, tearing through our property and their home.

When the fire came into Garnet Valley, everything happened incredibly fast. With very little time to evacuate and no way to safely get all 14 of our alpacas out, we were faced with an incredibly difficult decision. We had to open the gates and let them loose, hoping they could get away from the fire and somehow make it through.

They battled through the fire, and we are beyond grateful that they survived. Unfortunately, much of what we need to safely care for them did not.

We lost their barns and shelters, fencing, feeders, water troughs and other essential parts of their property. Their shelters are especially important for our mothers and their babies, as well as giving all of the alpacas somewhere protected to sleep and get out of the weather.

Our first priority is getting shelters and secure fencing back up as quickly as possible. Right now, we need to be able to safely contain them on the property and give them proper shelter. After everything they have just been through, getting them back into a safe and secure environment is our biggest focus.

Funds raised will go directly toward rebuilding their barns and shelters, replacing fencing, feeders and water troughs, as well as feed and other animal-care supplies we need while we work to rebuild.

These animals mean the absolute world to us. Watching the fire come through and having no choice but to let them go was something I never imagined we would have to experience. All we could do was hope they would find their way to safety. Knowing they made it through means more than I can put into words, and now our focus is getting them safely home and rebuilding what they need.

We also know we are far from the only people in Garnet Valley and Summerland who have been affected by this fire. We are incredibly grateful for every person who has reached out, looked out for our animals, shared our posts, offered supplies or asked how they could help. The amount of support we have received has been incredible.

If you are able to donate, every bit will go toward helping us rebuild a safe home for our alpacas. If you aren’t able to donate, sharing this fundraiser would also mean so much to us.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us and our animals through all of this. ❤️
