Since December 1989, the South Bay LGBTQ Center has been serving the LGBTQ+ community living in and around the South Bay area.  We are an all-volunteer based nonprofit organization and for more than 30 years, our mission has always been focused on providing a safe place for the LGBTQ+ community.

Of course it has had its challenges and we are always working on building a better tomorrow. Unfortunately, due to the COVID 19 Pandemic and not being able to have our center open for more than 16 months, the South Bay LGBTQ Center is in jeopardy of having to close its doors for good.

We are reaching out to the public and the generosity of people who care and understand the importance of our LGBTQ+ youth having a safe place to gather that encourages inclusion and understanding. Although the times have changed, the Center's mission has always been to create spaces where all LGBTQ+/Queer people can thrive though cultural awareness, community building, community service and learning opportunities. We hope to foster greater inclusion as well as understanding of our LGBTQ+/Queer and other intersecting communities in the South Bay area".

For many years, the South Bay LGBTQ Center has been one of the only local organizations in the South Bay who serve the LGBTQ+ community. We have always existed to provide a variety of opportunities for the community to meet, interact, share ideas and work together on issues of mutual interest.
