The people of Myanmar need your help! Your contribution supports Myanmar’s ongoing Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM)! Any amount counts!
Your contribution will go to aid the nonviolent activities by providing the much-needed humanitarian assistance to the CDM in Myanmar and help Free Myanmar Campaign USA’s (FMCUSA) works. (80% of contribution will go directly to support the CDM movement inside Myanmar and 20% will be used to support FMCUSA’s works).
On February 1, 2021, the military junta (Tatmadaw party) sieged the country in a coup despite the National League for Democracy (NLD)’s win by an overwhelming landslide of 80% of the votes! The Tatmadaw illegally detained the elected State Chancellor, Aung San Suu Kyi, the President, party leaders, and many innocent Election Commission workers. The Myanmar people made their voices heard through daily protests across the nation. Civilian workers, from healthcare profession, teachers, and people from all walks of life staged the nonviolent CDM, that resulted in the loss of income as they fight for democracy. Fueled with the COVID-19 Pandemic, the already-poor Southeast Asia nation is in crisis and on survival mode!!
Free Myanmar Campaign USA stands in solidarity with the people of Myanmar; we recognize Myanmar’s 2020 democratic election results, and we denounce the unlawful military coup.
FMCUSA urges the U.S. and international communities to pressure the military junta and assist in the CDM. We want to be able to provide assistance to the political detainees’ families and the CDM participants. We are forming alliances with other Free Myanmar campaigns across the U. S. and around the world.
