My name is Diana Makaroff, l am living in my old gooseneck trailer without the fridge working & only my little old generator, on granite country near Tenterfield with my old horses and cats. I originally had a horse stud and promised my old horses (13 now) that I would never abandon them as we aged. My oldest is now 31years old and I am 74yrs. Four cats now, they were originally strays that moved into my hay shed on my beloved property/stud that I built from scratch and was devastated when I lost it in the GFC and millennium drought, while working hard to build up my "Storybook" tree nursery as well as my stud I had an accident with one of my stallions in September 2010 which, left me with severed rotator cuff tendons in my right shoulder and needed plastic surgery on my lower arm. No ultrasound was done and through medical negligence my severed tendons, that should have been reattached could now not be, so I have been left with a permanent right arm disability. Which isn't fun even with domestic things! This was devastating as I was unable to do so many things and I was (& am) on my own, trying to save my property, but the money lenders/banks targeted the older asset rich income poor and so many of us lost our homes/properties. I was not feeling well and so worried,.. on 5th July 2013 I needed lifesaving triple bypass open heart surgery. For over a month the first time in my horses lives that I hadn't been there on my own to feed and care for them every day. Luckily I had two beautiful friends who came and fed them every day while I was in hospital. (Thank you Sandra and Michelle!)

In 2011 this so called "no win no pay" medical negligence litigation began,..which dragged out more than eleven years of extreme stress together with the mortgage fraud litigation from the GFC crash that I lost of my beautiful stud in 2014. What happened with all the litigation is another story, and so much injustice involved in the legal system, & their so called no win no pay greedy firms.

Thanks to being in our Lucky Country I am receiving the aged pension which I feel we are lucky to receive, just isn't enough to keep up with feeding everyone. Even though I don't have electricity to pay I still need fuel for my old generation to charge up 12v batteries for lights and my biggest expense doing my hay run once a week, as well as buying water from Tenterfield Council and the cost of fuel. Feeling very alone even with all the beautiful horses and cats, but the fear of not having enough for hay and cat food is the hardest. Sorry not doing a very good job with this fund-raiser, but I hope I have explained my situation devoted to saving these wonderful old horses and cats, they deserve my loyalty and dedication, I just wish I didn't need to beg for help, but I am extremely grateful for all the support I have had, hoping if I can get some more second hand fencing materials I might be able to reduce the hay cost, and one day not have to ask for help. It doesn't help that I slipped on a very hard shopping floor when stressed in 2013 and I'm told I need a knee replacement, it does give me a lot of pain. Must say here that my emotional attachment to the horses is enormous as I was there to birth them with their Mums, so decades of being there to feed and care for them has had a huge impact on me and them, and attachment is very strong so your caring and donating is helping this one old horse loving woman and all the beautiful old horses get through another day.
