Help save The Kuehner Kids Home!!
Hello, I am Lacey Kuehner- A 34 year old disabled mom of 2 (ages 10 and 5) that is going through one of the toughest moments in my life. I am in the middle of a very necessary divorce and NOW- also trying desperately to save our home after years of chaos..
Never would I have imagined that I would be needing to ask for help such as this. We are- in fact- loosing our home. It is scheduled to go to Auction in September 2021 if we do not make the full reinstatement fee of: $35,870.85 to bring the home loan current. Once current I am fully capable of making future payments with zero issues. A lot led to this serious “dilemma” but to give you some bullet points (going backwards):
- Our home is on unstable land- sinkhole/depression activity has been present and after a VERY lengthy claim we WERE able to settle and get a majority of the internal repairs done. As of today- August 26, 2021 we still need to actually stabilize the ground (down payment is made and scheduled for October-ish ) and finish some minor repairs.
- I (Lacey/mommy) have been sick with Covid and the kids have been on quarantine with me the last two weeks or so. We are blessed with wonderful friends that checked in and helped bring dinner/meds etc.
- My husband and I have separated a few months ago. Again- multiple things contributed to this, and despite the divorce, I’m desperately trying to keep our home so that our children, Ava and Mason- can remain close to their father AND not have to uproot their lives and move somewhere else.
- We have literally became known as “The Bad Luck Family” in our neighborhood- if it can go wrong- it seems to. Just this month I hit a water pipe, the AC went out, my dryer started making a funny noise and my washer is refusing to actually do a load. I was stung by a wasp, Ava was sent home on the 2nd day of school to quarantine due to possible exposure and the three of us have all tested positive. We hope to be feeling better and released from quarantine soon. I have experienced obstacles that I can’t even wrap my head around.
Bottom line:
We DESPERATELY need $35,870.85 ASAP to pay the past due mortgage to our lender. If we don’t have that BEFORE the date of auction- we loose the house. This is Ava and Mason’s only home- it’s heartbreaking to even think about. I have applied for every possible program I can think of. It’s even more hurtful that the insurance payout for the sinkhole was barely even enough to cover the necessary repairs- but we made it work- and with upgrades that benefit my personal health. I have had two neurosurgeries due to Arnold Chiari Malformation and Spinal Stenosis- so during the renovation process we are were able to add some personal details to help make daily life easier- such as a small laundry shoot and moving the sink to face the main living area. Our home prior to repairs was filled with mold and was literally falling apart. I did what I felt was right by fixing everything we could and staying in contact with the lender for a modification- that was denied twice. Unfortunately- the reality we face now- is:
1. Pay the $35,870.85 to reinstate and then I can make my monthly payments at 610$ (there is NO way we can find anywhere to rent at that price) I survive off just disability income due to my health so funds are limited but consistent ❤️
2. We are evicted and I’m petrified at the extra trauma my babies will have to go through. This has already been an extremely trying few years for everyone.
