Help Save the Indian Acres Campground Cats (TNR)

At our peaceful campground in Spotsylvania, Virginia, a hidden crisis has been growing far faster than any of us realized. What began when my aunt and uncle started feeding a few friendly campground cats has revealed something much bigger. When they returned home, I continued caring for the cats and installed cameras so they could still watch them from afar. That’s when we saw the truth: far more cats were visiting our feeders than anyone expected. Across the campground’s 19 glens, we now estimate at least one colony per glen, averaging about 10 cats each—a conservative estimate of 190 community cats. And because cats reproduce quickly, that number can explode in a single year. Without intervention, this population will grow exponentially, leading to suffering for the cats and strain on the entire campground community.

TNR (Trap Neuter Return) is the only humane and effective method to manage the community cat population. Neutered cats no longer reproduce, fight less, roam less, and live healthier lives. This improves quality of life for the cats and for the people who live, camp, and work here. With your support, we can provide spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and ongoing care for these cats. Every dollar raised will go directly toward these lifesaving efforts, helping us prevent future suffering and create a safer, healthier environment for everyone at Indian Acres.

Please help us make a difference for these cats and our community by supporting our TNR efforts. Every donation brings us closer to a healthier, happier life for the Indian Acres Campground cats. Thank you for caring and for being part of this mission!

NOTE: Be aware that this platform earns 2.9% plus $0.30 per donation so about $3.20 per $100. This is appropriate for the convenience and I am prepared to make up that difference at the clinic. It is not necessary to add a "TIP" in payment, please be prepared to change the default number before completing your transaction. ~Jen
