Help Save The Hwy 21 Drive-In
Hey y’all! Who misses going to the movies right about now? Probably most of us. And for some of us, we remember (and miss) drive-in movies. I am very lucky to know of one that is still up and running, and even more fortunate to know the family that owns it. I visit it multiple times on my yearly vacation to Beaufort, South Carolina. They aren’t super rich, just regular people you’d pass by on the street, say hi, stop, and talk to. They have been keeping this movie tradition alive, in their family, for years, but it’s had it’s setbacks. A large portion of their revenue goes to the movie production costs. So they have an awesome, old school snack shack that helps with making profits. With needing to practice social distancing, and being extremely aware of food safety, they chose to close this area for the overall safety of their employees and guests, only asking for a $5 donation towards their costs. What’s even more amazing, they threw out their support for locally owned restaurants, and said they’d allow outside food in with a receipt! What theater you know allows that?!?
Well, this small, family owned business cannot get the Covid-19 relief loan due to funding no longer being available. I know there are many businesses out there going through similar issues, as well as a large portion of the public going through hard times. But I know this family. You could know them. And with everything that is happening, they may not make it through this. I’m not asking for much, but maybe donate half of what you’d pay for a regular night at the movies with your family. $20. So easy. And we can help this small business stay alive, and keep going through all this. If you can’t donate, share, share, share. #HelpSaveHwy21DriveIn
