Hello, my name is Steve Cody, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my family and our beloved ministry, Voice of Christianity Mission — a nonprofit that has served the people of South Texas and Northern Mexico for over six decades.

In 1959, my grandparents, Rev. Roy And Ruth Metzger, answered a divine calling. With five small children and nothing but faith in their hearts, they moved to Brownsville, Texas to become missionaries. They built a home, brick by brick — literally. My grandfather, a man of vision and deep conviction, constructed it with his own hands while also building churches, feeding the hungry, and ministering to families in need across the border.

This humble home didn’t just shelter our family — it became the heart of the ministry. It was a place of refuge for the hurting, a headquarters for mission work, and a symbol of unwavering service to God and community. Countless lives were touched from within its walls — through food distributions, prayer meetings, and love shown without conditions.

But today, this cherished home is in danger of being lost.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, rising costs, and aging repairs, we are at risk of losing the very place that helped so many find hope. This home is not just a structure — it is part of the spiritual heritage of South Texas and Northern Mexico. We believe it is worth saving.
