Needed Support for Home Run Stadium Batting Cages

Donation protected
Home Run Stadium Batting Cages  has been serving the East Valley baseball and softball community at the same location for over 35 years. During that time,  the Batting Cages has become a landmark for baseball and softball enthusiast throughout  the East Valley.  After thriving for decades, we have felt the challenges of the last 4 years.

In 2017, Metro Phoenix Light Rail started construction on an expansion that left many businesses and various areas on Main Street difficult for the public to access for over 2 1/2 years. Because the construction made it hard for our community to reach the businesses along Main, our revenue, like many of our neighbors dropped over 50%.

When the project concluded in May 2019, we started to see a return of business. The community being able to reach us again was the blessing we needed to start the return to normal. We eagerly looked forward to our Spring 2020 season, where spring training and little league would bring our revenues back up. In years past, 50% of our earnings are generated during this period. For us, the Spring 2020 season would also be the boost we needed to make up for what we had lost during the Metro Light Rail construction in the area.

But in the blink of an eye, the COVID-19 pandemic took the world by force. For the Batting Cages, the pandemic was even more devastating than the Light Rail construction because the pandemic came right when Spring Training and Little League were starting up in the East Valley.  Spring Training and Little League, of course, were both cancelled and earnings plummeted over 70% through the rest of 2020. With the loss of revenue over the past four years, Home Run Stadium has fallen behind on the costly but needed routine repairs on the
batting cages.

Now, we are calling on our community. We are trying to raise $45,000 to get enough funds to bring the batting cages back to pre-light rail construction and pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels so we can continue serving the East Valley baseball and softball communities. Some of the repairs include replacing baseballs and softballs, repairing netting on the cages, repair and patch the parking lot, repair and patch asphalt inside of the cages, replace benches for seating, repair or replace the pitching machines, repair or replace the storefront sign, and generate the funds needed for advertising and marketing to let everyone know we are still here.

Our commitment to the community is that through these funds, we will be able to make these needed repairs and continue operations. Because the community is so very important to us, any funds over and above what is needed to complete the needed repairs will be donated to local little leagues and veteran non-profit organizations in the East Valley.

We would like to thank you in advance for any help we receive from the community on this project. There are so many ways that you can help right now, from donations to simply spreading the word.  Awareness about our situation can make all the difference so please share our story.  We have served our community for over 35 years, and we look forward to serving you for many more.
