Hello, I’m Colleen Clarke and I currently run an independent animal rescue in Daytona Beach called The Backyard Babies Behind The Fence Of Holly Hill Florida Animal Rescue Services.
We are a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit cage-free animal rescue I started off as a colony cat caregiver and then started bringing in orphaned, abandoned, and kittens who’s mothers may have died leaving behind litters of neonatal critical kittens. I work very hard, socializing them and domesticating them, and creating the cute, adorable love bugs that they become. I do believe this is what my life’s purpose is for. Too bad you don’t get your purpose pre-financed dealing primarily with neonatal kittens vet costs are more than costly and always a need and having cats in a shelter type environment alone can lead to increased vet visits on top of the spays neutering vaccinations and microchipping it’s just unmanageable alone plus on top of that there’s always cost of food wet and dry and litter supplements and general overhead costs for the roof we’re living under and I’m afraid that the backyard babies are drowning and can no longer tread water I’m not knowing what to do now we’re a month behind on our rent I’m scraping together daily food and litter for them and food for our chihuahuas without at least catching up we don’t stand a chance unfortunately and then what’s the future gonna be for the babies? Please if there’s any way that you could help at all please everything counts and adds up in the end
I’ve always been an absolute animal-obsessed person and am extremely passionate about making sure if there’s any way possible I can assist them in living their best lives, then I will give everything I have in me and sacrifice all I have to ensure that I do. I believe I was born to be an animal advocate and the voice of the voiceless.
I understand everybody’s going through a tough time, but the animals only know tough times. Isn’t it about time more people work towards giving them the break they so deserve in life?
